about

This is the earliest songs from Fringe. They were recorded in Jackson MS. My brother (Joel) hosted us and he can throw a party. His youth group showed up frothing at the mouth, ready for a live recording of a band named "Fringe." Its high energy and way up-tempo cause, well, there was a lot of crazy kids, and this was just our fourth gig.

Dan Helmintoller, a good friend and local producer, recorded this project, and Shawn Harnish - soon to be our guitarist - and I, mixed it in the early AM hours in some dark studio in Buffalo NY.

These songs are also the only recordings we have with Dominick Renaldo who was Fringes first bass player. Dom was an incredible musician and particularly fun to watch play live as his body was never in time, but his fingers did just fine. At the time, Fringe was a three piece that included my best friend and genius drummer, Eric Perry. Eric is the fella that introduced me to a click, but that was after the live recording...

The cover art came from a photo of us in our practice space in a barn in Western NY.
